Lousy Liu Preaches Strong Ethics
January 7th, 2012While his top fundraiser is under investigation by the feds for illegally collecting campaign donations, NYC Democratic Comptroller John Liu lectures Wall Street bigs on ethics.
Seriously.
Done laughing? Spout of anger passed?
I really wish that I could say I was making this stuff up. The guy is simply clueless and more a financial clown than chief fiscal officer.
Need an example? NYC’s economy isn’t exactly booming right now. While small businesses struggle to make ends meet and keep their financials above water, Lousy Liu thought that his staff, with salaries funded with taxpayer dollars, deserved a raise. 126 of them to be exact. Only in government offices to the realities of economics, simple math and every day common sense cease to exist.
What exactly has made this Corruptician so ethical that he feels he can preach to others about the topic?
- Absent from legal issues? Nope.
- Ethical leadership? Nope.
- Set ethical standards? Nope.
- Written a best selling leadership book on ethics? Nope.
This may be an example that is local to New York City but I can almost guarantee that something similar has happened in each district across the country. Maybe not at your city level but surely at the state level. Folks, why do we elected such incompetent, egotistical clowns to office when they appear to live in a fantasy world funded with our dollars? I can’t even comprehend how he might have made it to a city council seat, let alone the NYC Comptroller’s desk!?
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, make sure you’re evaluating candidates on their results, not just the D or R that comes after their name. Or the fact that he seems like a nice guy or that John Liu is Taiwanese and so are you. All of that may be nice but so what? Think about the bigger picture and elect someone who will leave their office better than they found it.
